Understanding Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality is not just a new term. It has been around for decades. Likewise, a good book on AR will always address the technology necessary to support the medium, rather than just the basic concept.

For example, the term was first used in 1970 by Roger Shuler, to describe the ability to use visual communication to convey information into another medium (like the internet, television or even radio). This type of communication then went on to be referred to as “image maps”image-based virtuality.” With these terms, it was possible to send and receive visual information to and from another medium.

A more modern version of this technology has been around since the 1990s. Now, AR has become a very common term, with many different uses. For example, you may have seen the term “augmented reality” being used to explain things like Google Glass. Or, you may have heard someone using the term when they are talking about things like Google+ or Facebook.

The concept behind an augmented world is that you can get information in an augmented world. An example of this would be a website that was designed for a special event. By viewing the website, an augmented user could view everything that was going on without actually having to see the event. A video or images can also be streamed to the user, allowing them to interact with the content much like they would if they were at the event.

The way in which the concept is used today, though, is completely different. For example, Google+ was designed with the idea of providing visual communication to its users. People could create and share their photos and share videos of events with their friends. Because they were able to view these photos and videos right from their computer, they could easily share the information, without having to leave the comfort of their own home.

The same technology is available for all of us. The key thing, of course, is to be able to see what we are doing. If we can’t see what is going on, we won’t be able to participate and enjoy the benefits of augmented world.

Another great example of this technology is Google Earth. In this case, you can fly through the virtual world. You can travel around and view things at your leisure. You can also zoom in and out of your surroundings. There are so many applications for this.

This kind of technology is very useful for business. As an example, it would make it easy for a sales person to create a virtual booth for a trade show or convention. They could see what products are in demand. With an eye-catching banner, they can promote the products they have on the booth, to encourage more people to visit the booth.

Augmented reality is also being used on the medical industry. For example, a doctor can review a patient’s X-rays before and after surgery. They will be able to see how the patient healed in real time as well as seeing pictures of the results.

Technology like this will continue to grow and change. One day, it may even be able to help people communicate to people who live in other parts of the world.

One factor that needs to be considered is privacy. In this technology, there are a lot of people who will be able to view your data. Some of them will be people who you have invited into your world. However, there will always be people who will be able to view this data.

Privacy is an important factor to think about, and you need to decide what steps you will take to keep this private. When looking at this technology, think about how this affects the way you communicate with others and the way they communicate with you.
